Post-exchange...one month and one day hence

Jeez Emily, chill...

Sometimes Emily functions as such: Emily dwells on negative aspects far too much in her mind, but if she gets around to making them public either through written or spoken words, she realizes how retarded many of those thoughts are, and then generally feels better.

To prove to you all - but mostly to herself - that it was indeed worthwhile to spend all that time, energy, money, risk all those friendships, relationships, her physical and mental well-being to go on that bloody exchange, she will now list off the things that rocked about her trip (in no particular order):

- baguettes and a wide selection of cheeses to accompany them
- getting drunk on very VERY cheap wine with little to no hangover
- meeting really friendly people from other parts of the globe
- watching friendships form
- realizing you can still make great friends with someone after not having really talked to them for a whole four months...there's always time...
- bright blue skies for as far as the eye can see
- a random 20-degree day in February
- dry, hot sunlight
- really really strong winds
- tasting the salt of the ocean
- making friends out of your acquaintances
- developing a new appreciation for the colours found in flowers after certain psychadelic experiences ....seriously, flowers kick ass.
- being in cities you always hear about
- realizing you never really thought about how those cities would look, but being somehow surprised and delighted anyway
- seeing the beauty of so many different types of architecture
- understanding jokes in another language

There's lots more, but, I'm sleepy...
Those should keep me going on a bout of positivity for a little while, anyway.
