ROAD TRIP!
Hey, I just got back from two days of driving around with some fabulous people: Rehana, Jesse, Brad and Emma... Saturday was a kinda dreary damp day in Aix, so we couldn't go up Ste. Victoire as planned. So we said... "Let's see if we can rent a car!" We called around, but being the Easter weekend, a lot of the rental places were sold out.... But we got the last car at Thrifty's - a 4-door SMART CAR!!!
We rolled on out with no real destination, just a general idea of the region we wanted to visit. En Bref, sandwiches on the roof, driving through a vineyard, mediaval village, sleeping on the beach in les Camargues, building a sandcastle, seeing flamingoes, Arles, watching a bullrace, paella, bull meat, sleeping on a patch of grass, small French town, Abbey, Baux-de-Provence, fortress ruins, Bohemian Rhapsody singalong at just the right moment, Avignon, drinking wine at the Palais des Papes, drinking wine and dancing and singing sur le Pont d'Avignon, driving home with wonderful memories...
There's much more to it, but right now I've gotta amscray... The residence is kicking me out of my room tomorrow so they can do electrical work and get dust all over the place, so I have to pack all my stuff up and shove it in the closet. And the bus that goes to the foot of Ste. Victoire leaves in less than two hours... so, I've got work to do!
I hope you are all well, and happy belated Easter to those of you who celebrate!
PS: According to the pharmacy sign outside, the current temperature in Aix-en-Provence is 28°C in the sun.
